Frida Kahlo, Mexico's world-renowned female artist.

A musical about her life was made in Korea.
The Korean musical "Frida" is a musical about the life of Mexican world-renowned female artist Frida Carlo.

Frida Kahlo was born in Coyoakin, Mexico in 1907. She left a number of masterpieces, including self-portraits, until her death in 1954 at the age of 47.
In 1984, the Mexican government classified her works as national treasures.

Frida Kahlo, the artist's greatest artistic achievement, but her life was a mess.
People in the world nicknamed her "Queen of Pain."
Her life was harsh and disastrous.

The Korean musical Frieda organized the life of Frida Kahlo in the form of a show.
The musical's setting is for Frida Kahlo to appear in The Last Night Show, which introduces her life. Frida Kahlo rehearses with three crew members, who are also her other egos.

Frida Kahlo, the only real person in the musical Frida, is played by Choi Jung-won and Kim So-hyang.
Jeon Soo-mi and Lisa were in charge of "Lefleha," which plays the two characters of the show's MC and Diego Rivera at the same time.

The musical Frieda I watched was a casting combination of Kim So-hyang, Lisa, Lim Jung-hee, and Choi Seo-yeon.
As a fan of Kim So-hyang, I often saw her works. Therefore, I was proud to know Kim So-hyang's acting to some extent.
At least I could anticipate her performance.
However, I felt a crack in my pride while watching the musical Frida. To be honest, I was so shocked that my eyes popped out.

In the musical Frida, there is a scene where Kim So-hyang hesitates several times while dancing with the crew.
Eventually, she stops rehearsing, which is the scene that best shows the human face of Frida Carlo in the musical Frida.

In this scene, Kim Sohyang shows a very detailed performance. It proves why she is one of the best actresses to represent Korean musicals these days.

In particular, the scene where Kim Sohyang dances alone in the petals falling from the air is the best.
There is no word that comes to mind other than the word "shock."
It is a scene comparable to the famous scene of the musical Bill Elliot.
It is no exaggeration to say that everything in the musical Frida is compressed in Kim Sohyang's dance.

I feel that even music and lighting are watching Kim Sohyang's movements without even breathing.
Time stops.
The viewer's heart refuses to beat.
Everything about this musical was poured into this one scene.

"Hope my going out is happy."
And I don't want to come back
(From the last article in the diary by Frida Kahlo)

The rehearsal is the final stage ahead of the main performance.
And now the rehearsal is over.
The real show is just beginning.
Hooray for life, Viva la Vida
